Two events are planned Friday, August 10, as part of fundraising efforts to resurface the St. Francis Middle School/community walking/running track.
A 1K Fun Run/Walk is planned for 10:00 a.m. at the middle school. 1K participation is open to all ages. Pre-registration fee is $5 and must be received by Thursday, July 30 to guarantee a participation medal. Download the registration form. For more information contact Laurie Skoglund at Building Blocks Montessori, 763-753-0971.
The St. Francis Lions are sponsoring a Spaghetti Dinner, Silent Auction & Bake Sale, 4:30-8:00 p.m., at the St. Francis American Legion. Cost is $10 for all-you-can-eat spaghetti and beverage; $6 for 12 and under; free for under 3 years old. All are welcome. Alumni are encouraged to participate.
Community members are being asked to help raise approximately $22,000 needed to resurface the track before the start of the 2012-13 school year. There are no school district funds available for track project.
Visit the St. Francis Middle School track, east of Highway 47 in St. Francis —then become part of the healthy community solution for students and families.
Why should the track be resurfaced?
- To furnish an easily accessible walking/jogging track for community use
- To provide middle school students a safer place to play and be active
- To cut down on injuries to students during the school year
- To provide special education students a surface that will be compatible with their equipment
Be part of an active community that supports youth with a positive, healthier place to play and live. Donations are being collected by the St. Francis Track & Cross Country Booster Organization, a 501(c)(3) organization. Your donation is tax deductible.
