The Office of School Technology will be upgrading the district’s network systems this summer. The project will consolidate two data centers which requires the entire network to be off-line for at least five days. The result will be a faster and more reliable network with improved access to resources and a consolidated location, making it more efficient to power, cool and manage this valuable equipment.
The timeline for the project is as follows:
- Saturday, June 30, 2012, 8:00 a.m.
Independent School District 15’s network and all computer/network-based resources will be taken off-line. This includes district email, voicemail, the entire phone system, network file services, VPN and domain login services (all network services). Note: TIES and the district website can be accessed outside of the district.
- Monday, July 9, 2012, 6:00 a.m.
The project will be completed.
Because of the scope and magnitude of the project, it was decided that the week of the 4th of July holiday would be the least disruptive period.
Thank you for your cooperation during this time period. The resulting benefits to the district’s network will far outweigh the inconvenience.
