& Vocational Center
Crossroads School & Vocational Center is a special K-12 school operated by St. Francis Area Schools, ISD 15. Crossroads School provides education not only for students living at Bar-None Residential Treatment Center but also for students living in District 15 who, for many reasons, cannot be successful at their regular school of attendance. Crossroads School also provides education for students from surrounding districts who cannot have their needs met in their own district. The school provides different programming components. These components include: elementary education, secondary education, short-term program (students attending for less than 30 days), special education services, and ELL services. Off-site services include Crossroads staff providing education to students who reside in the Bar-None Treatment Center's secure unit also referred to as Crossroads South. Crossroads should be considered a short-term placement for students while they learn new acceptable behaviors and adjust to changes in their lives. When appropriate, students may be considered for transition back to their home school when they are ready.
Crossroads School & Vocational Center provides a safe, caring, supportive environment where students with educational and social challenges can best develop the skills and character necessary to rejoin their communities with success.
Crossroads School & Vocational Center prepares students to meet the expectations of society and the workplace in a safe environment that values diversity and equity. All courses promote consistent school attendance, satisfactory achievement, and appropriate social behavior. Vocational courses facilitate development of interpersonal relationship skills, promote awareness of career opportunities and requirements, and support obtaining successful employment. This foundation enables students to become responsible members of their communities and encourages lifelong learning.
