Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
2. The second reason calendar reminders do not show up is because users are looking at their calendar in Internet Explorer. Pop-up reminders are frequently a casualty of IE's pop-up blocker. If you are a diehard IE user, you will need to configure your pop-up settings to allow notifications from Google Calendar. Firefox and Chrome work much better in this case.
3. The biggest reason pop-up reminders don't work is (drum roll, please!) because Google Calendar is not open in at least one browser tab. Your calendar MUST be open somewhere in order for reminders to work.
2. Why don't events I add from an iPad (or other mobile device) show up on my Google Calendar when I'm on my computer?
A. The number 1 reason calendar events created on a mobile device don't show up on your Google Calendar is that there are multiple calendars living on the mobile device and the event was not added to the intended calendar. For iPads and iPhones, iCloud calendars often become the default calendar, so events get added to that calendar instead of your Google calendar. Check your device settings to see which calendar is set as default (image left), then as you create an event, double-check which calendar it's being added to (image right).
